General Municipal Elections are held in the City of Westminster on the first Tuesday, following the first Monday, in November of even numbered years. Other municipal elections or special elections may be called from time to time by the City Council.
When possible, the municipal elections are consolidated with the State elections to provide convenience to the voters and to minimize costs.
Residents of Westminster elect one Mayor and four Councilmembers at large. These positions are elected by Westminster citizens at large, and elections are held every two years. The offices of Mayor and City Council are non-partisan.
The Mayor serves a term of two years, while City Councilmembers each serve a term of four years. The terms of the Councilmembers are staggered.
Registered voters may call the Registrar of Voters office at (714) 567-7600 or access election general information on the County Registrar of Voters web site. Voter registration forms are available in the City Clerk's office or you can register on line at Register to Vote.
