In February of 2009, the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Title 2, Division 6, California Code of Regulation Section 18944.1 Gifts: Tickets or passes to Events became effective. This regulation provides provisions on the processing and reporting of tickets or passes provided to an agency official by the agency or other source. Included in the stated regulation is the requirement that a compliant written policy be adopted by the legislative body and posted prominently on the City website.
On May 12, 2010 the Mayor and City Council of Westminster adopted Resolution Number 4293 establishing a City Council Policy regarding Ticket Distribution in accordance with Fair Political Practices Commission Regulation 18944.1.
