Description of Lessons
Parent/Grandparent & Me: Children 6-36 months, accompanied by a parent/grandparent. Designed to give parents/grandparents information and techniques to help orient their child/grandchild in the water and provide helpful safety tips.
Tiny Tot: Children 3-5 years old. Designed to teach water adjustment, safety, and very basic beginner skills. NOTE: A smaller student to instructor ratio is maintained for added safety.
Advanced Tiny Tot: Children 3-5 years old. Advanced skills including prone glide, back glide, underwater exploration and arm movement front and back. NOTE:A smaller student to instructor ratio is maintained for added safety.
Level 1: Water Exploration: Children 6 years and over. For those with little or no water experience. Class is for those adjusted to the water and ready to gain more independence in water skills.
Level 2: Primary Skills: Students must have passed Level 1. Teaches the basic fundamentals of the crawl and backstroke, floatation, personal safety and rescue skills.
Level 3: Stroke Readiness: Students must have passed Level 2. Teaches the coordination of the crawl and backstroke, introduces the elementary backstroke, the fundamentals of treading water, personal safety and rescue skills.
Level 4: Stroke Development: Students must have passed Level 3. Increases endurance, develops competency in the crawl and backstroke, coordinates elementary backstroke, introduces the breaststroke and sidestroke, basic swim turns, standing dive, personal safety and rescue skills.
Level 5: Stroke Refinement: Students must have passed Level 4. Student improve coordination of breaststroke and sidestroke, improves on all strokes, introduces butterfly, open swim turns, long shallow dives, personal safety and rescue skills.
Level 6: Stroke Proficiency: Students must have passed Level 5. Students will be working on polishing their stroke to swim with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances.
Adult: 16 years and over. Designed for those with little or no water experience.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a minimum and maximum number of students in each lesson.
