The Citizens Police Academy is a 10-week program designed to give community members an overview of the policies and procedures of Westminster Police Department. The purpose of the Citizens Police Academy is not to train an individual to be a Police Officer but to produce informed citizens. Our goal is to build a closer bond with our community. We guarantee that once you have taken this course, you will have a different outlook on the Police Department. All instructors in this program are Westminster Police Department employees. Participants in this program will meet once weekly at the police department to gain knowledge about emergency calls, police discretion and ethics, street gangs, SWAT, narcotics, criminal investigations and more. If you are interested in participating in the Citizens Police Academy, contact Police Services Officer by calling (714) 548-3203 or emailing at WPD_GeneralQuestions@westminster-ca.gov.
