The Forensic Services Unit manages crime scene investigations and provides all photographic and fingerprint services for the department. Technicians may respond to crime scenes or may assist the investigation with in-house technical analysis. The Forensic Services Unit is driven by the successful court adjudication of all cases with which they are involved.

Westminster Police Department has a tremendous amount of talent and expertise within its forensics unit. The unit is comprised by a full time Certified Latent Print Examiner and a Certified Crime Scene Analyst who are supported by five staff members. All staff members are college educated and professionally trained in the field of forensic science. Collectively, FSU staff members have six Bachelor degrees, one Master degree and one Doctorate degree. Additionally, they have cumulatively attained more than 2,000 hours of specialized forensic education, four professional certifications and have more than 62 years of experience in forensic investigation.
