The Westminster Police Department’s Information Systems (IS) Department has four full-time employees and one part-time technician who work to support the Police Department’s computer systems.The role of the IS Department is crucial to our police department.We rely on the IS team to keep us up to date and informed on all pertinent information.Information technology is invaluable in helping our officers provide the best customer service possible.
The Information Systems technicians work split shifts in order to provide coverage six days a week for more than 150 users in the Police force.Information Systems technicians keep the various technology systems in the police department properly maintained and optimized. We are constantly trying to help our personnel work more efficiently with technology systems (such as: digital fingerprinting, computerized dispatch, geographic information systems, wireless networks, electronic report writing and document image management) so they can serve the community more effectively.
