City Council accepting applications for Citizens Oversight Committee

The Westminster City Council is currently accepting applications from individuals who are interested in serving on the Citizens Oversight Committee. The committee will be comprised of five members, and each member will be appointed by a council member.

The purpose of the Citizens Oversight Committee is to review the City’s budgeting and accounting practices related to the receipt and expenditure of the one-cent (1 %) transactions and use (sales) tax generated by the passage of the Essential Services ballot measure, Measure SS. The committee will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing the City' s audited annual financial report specifically related to the use of funds generated by Measure SS;
  • Reviewing the City' s mid- year financial report of general fund revenues and expenditures related to funds generated by Measure SS; and
  • Producing an annual report to the City Council regarding their findings following the review of the audited annual financial report and the mid- year financial report.

Individuals interested in applying may obtain an application from the city’s website here or by visiting City Hall, 8200 Westminster Blvd.  Completed applications should be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall as soon as possible.
