Purpose: Acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters of concern to the youth of the city, and shall work under the supervision of the Community Services and Recreation Department. The Youth Committee advises, recommends, assists and encourages activities and programs to be undertaken for and with the youth of the City of Westminster; keeps informed about, and familiar with, the progress and development of youth activities, programs and services; and assists and/or advises other community agencies with youth information. Organization: Consists of nine (9) regular members and four alternate members. Members shall be selected by an interview process by two Council Members approved by the City Council and the Community Services Manager. Members must be between the ages of 12 and 18. Members who have surpassed the age of 18 may continue to serve until completion of their senior year of high school. Students must attend a school in a school district that serves the community of Westminster and reside in the City of Westminster.
Meetings: During the school year, September through June, meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. in the Community Services Building.
