Landlord/Tenant Rights & Responsibilities

Fair Housing Foundation

Federal and State laws prohibit discrimination in the sale, rental, leasing, negotiate, advertising, and financing of housing based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, familial status, marital status, age, disability, ancestry, sexual orientation, source of income or any other arbitrary reason.  These laws help to ensure that people who are qualified for the home of their choosing are not barred from being able to buy or rent that home due to discrimination.

The Fair Housing Foundation assists the City of Westminster to educate the public about fair housing rights and responsibilities, provides mediation and counseling services, and may investigate complaints.
