Join us for the Mendez Freedom Trail Dedication Ceremony.

On April 14, 2026, the City of Westminster will celebrate the completion of the Mendez Freedom Trail, which complements the Mendez Tribute Monument Park that opened in 2022 to honor the legacy of Mendez v. Westminster — the landmark civil rights case that helped end school segregation in California.

The trail features educational elements that highlight the history of the Mendez family and the fight for equal education. The public is invited to attend this special event as we celebrate the completion of this important community project.

Location: Hoover Street Bikeway, north of Main Street (across from Webber Elementary School)

Free parking is available on nearby neighborhood streets and at Sigler Park. We hope to see you there!
