The City of Westminster has released its March Emergency Preparedness Bulletin, highlighting Tsunami Awareness Month and spring safety tips.
The bulletin explains what tsunamis are, the risks they pose, and provides step-by-step guidance if a tsunami warning occurs, including earthquake safety, evacuation procedures, and boat safety. Residents are encouraged to sign up for tsunami alerts and review their emergency plans.
March is also a reminder to "spring forward" on March 8, 2026, and to use this time to check smoke alarms, review fire escape plans, and update emergency kits in preparation for spring hazards such as floods or thunderstorms.
Residents are encouraged to review the bulletin and consider subscribing to the City’s Emergency Bulletins and Public Safety updates to receive timely information as it becomes available.
