Westminster Library April Programs

The library has the perfect thing for spring break – a Mini Ren(aissance) Faire! Each day from April 6 – April 9 the library will offer Renaissance-themed events culminating with the Mini Ren Faire on April 9 with activities for adults, teens, and kids, including a performance from Michael Raynor, juggler and comedian.

Storytimes – Click the title to see a list of all the April storytimes at the Westminster Library. Our storytimes are followed by a Play & Learn session. Come to one or come to both!

Programs for Children:

Play Dough Date – Friday, April 3 from 10:30-11:30 AM: Play, create, and connect! This program offers open-ended play that encourages creativity, sharing, and social skills.

Fairy Folk Craftery – Tuesday, April 7 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM: Join us for a delightful and messy adventure as we whip up some enchanting fairy potions.

Little Trinkets for Little Borrowers – Wednesday, April 8 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM. Join us for an enjoyable hour of creating trinkets, which play a vital role in the fun of Ren Faire.

Totally Untidy Toddlers – Wednesday, April 15 at 10:30 AM. Join us for a fun-filled session where your little ones can explore, get messy, and learn through play.

Read to a Dog – Monday, April 27 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Practice your reading skills with a furry new friend! Bring your own book, or use one of ours! Read to a Dog meets in the library program room.

Programs for Families:

LEGO Club – Fridays from 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Come play with our LEGO and DUPLO bricks or build amazing structures with our KEVA planks. We provide the materials; you provide the creativity. Fun for the whole family.

Tales, Tiaras & Turkey Leg Storytime. Monday, April 6 from 11:00 – 11:30 AM. Join us for a whimsical storytime inspired by the silly nature of Renaissance faire.

Music and Movement: Cello with Chelsea – Monday, April 6 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM. Step into the magical realm of live classical cello music! This interactive performance is perfect for all ages.

Mini Ren Faire Festival – Thursday, April 9 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. Magical refreshments! Adult and Teen crafts! Children crafts! And a performance by the Juggler/Comedian Michael Rayner @ 3:30pm

Programs for Adults:

Fiber Arts Group – Tuesdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Do you knit or crochet? Or would you like some help learning? Bring your own projects. All fiber arts welcome! This group is open to all levels. Some supplies provided.

Drop In Tech Help – Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Need help with your phone or computer? This program is offered as walk-in only, first come, first served.

Author Talk: Chris Epting's Theodore Roosevelt in California – Monday, April 6 at 5:00 PM. Chris Epting will discuss his new book, Theodore Roosevelt in California: The Presidential Adventure That Saved the Wilderness. Chris will share stories about President Theodore Roosevelt's time in California and about how this helped in forming the National Parks. 
Books will be available for purchase.

Record Club – Monday, April 13 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM: Join us on the 2nd Monday of the month at Westminster Library for Record Club. Tired of endless streaming? Come in and share your favorite tunes on Vinyl or CD. Light refreshments will be provided.

Adult Book Group – Tuesday, March 24 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. A book club for adults that meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month. This month we'll discuss The Jackal's Mistress by Chris Bohjalian.

Programs for Teens:

Snack & Study – Thursdays from 4:00 – 5:30 PM. Need a place to study with friends? Come to the library and snack while you work. No schoolwork, no problem! Boardgames available on request.

Teen Craft: Mini Bookshelf – Saturday, April 11 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Create your dream bookshelf with your favorite tiny books and plants. All materials provided.

Teen Volunteer Orientation – Wednesday, April 15 at 4:00 PM: Want to volunteer at the library? We are recruiting! Current opportunities are for Library Helpers, Homework Helpers, and Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Members. All volunteers must attend an orientation prior to volunteering.

Teen Cooking Basics: Pizza Bites – Saturday, April 25 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM: Build confidence in the kitchen! Learn how to make pizza bites.
