May is Older Americans Month and the library is hosting activities that older Americans can enjoy.

May is Older Americans Month and the library is hosting activities that older Americans can enjoy. The Office on Aging to talk about services for seniors in OC, the library is offering the next installment of our Crafty Adults series, bring some old-school music on vinyl, cassette, or CD to share at the Record Club, and enjoy some good discussion at the monthly book group for adults!

Storytimes – Click the title to see a list of all the May storytimes at the Westminster Library. Our storytimes are followed by a Play & Learn session. Come to one or come to both!

Programs for Children:

Play Dough Date – Friday, May 1 from 10:30-11:30 AM: Play, create, and connect! This program offers open-ended play that encourages creativity, sharing, and social skills.

Totally Untidy Toddlers – Wednesday, May 20 at 10:30 AM. Join us for a fun-filled session where your little ones can explore, get messy, and learn through play.

Programs for Families:

LEGO Club – Fridays from 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Come play with our LEGO and DUPLO bricks or build amazing structures with our KEVA planks. We provide the materials; you provide the creativity. Fun for the whole family.

Programs for Adults:

Fiber Arts Group – Tuesdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Do you knit or crochet? Or would you like some help learning? Bring your own projects. All fiber arts welcome! This group is open to all levels. Some supplies provided.

Drop In Tech Help – Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Need help with your phone or computer? This program is offered as walk-in only, first come, first served.

Presentation: Services for Seniors in Orange County – Friday, May 4 at 3:00 PM. Join us for a presentation from Orange County's Office on Aging. This is a great opportunity to learn what services are available to seniors in Orange County through the Office on Aging.

Record Club – Monday, May 11 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM: Join us on the 2nd Monday of the month at Westminster Library for Record Club. Tired of endless streaming? Come in and share your favorite tunes on Vinyl or CD. Light refreshments will be provided.

Crafty Adult: Decoupage Rocks – Saturday, May 23 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. Adults are invited to join us at the Westminster Library for an hour of crafting. We will be decorating decoupage rocks. All supplies provided. Seating is limited to the first 20 people.

Adult Book Group – Tuesday, May 30 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Join us for a lively discussion at the Westminster Library Book Group. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month. This month we'll discuss The Names by Florence Knapp. Limited copies of the book are available for checkout at the service desk.

Programs for Teens:

TeenFest – Saturday, May 2 from 2:00 – 3:30 PM. Teens, join us for a blast to the past and celebrate your favorite ogre at our TeenFest kickoff event: Swampfest! Win prizes playing our "Pin the Tail on Donkey" activity, make your own ogre ears, decorate a gingerbread pancake, enjoy refreshments, and more!

Snack & Study – Thursdays from 4:00 – 5:30 PM. Need a place to study with friends? Come to the library and snack while you work. No schoolwork, no problem! Boardgames available on request.

Teen Volunteer Orientation – Wednesday, May 6 at 4:00 PM: Want to volunteer at the library? We are recruiting! Current opportunities are for Library Helpers, Homework Helpers, and Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Members. All volunteers must attend an orientation prior to volunteering.
