Summer 2026 Newsletter & Recreation Guide
It's a Star Spangled Summer! Our Summer newsletter is now available! Summer class registration is now OPEN, enroll for a class in person or online! Many classes are starting at the beginning of June, so enroll today! There's still time to enroll in one of our exciting sports, science, or arts Summer Camps running through August!

Contract Classes: Girls Flag Football
Join us for Girls Flag Football on Saturdays, June 6, June 27, and July 18 at Westminster Park! Classes are available for girls ages 3 to 17. Learn team building and sports fundamentals such as rules introduction and offensive/defensive positioning.
2026 Movies & Music – Movie Nights & Summer Concerts
The City of Westminster Movies & Music series is back! Get ready for a Star Spangled Summer and join us in the Civic Center Sunken Garden on Thursdays in July and August for a fun, family-friendly celebration of film and sound right in the heart of the community!
Movie Nights | Activities start at 6:30 p.m., Movie starts at 8:15 p.m.

- Thursday, July 16 – Angels in the Outfield
- Thursday, July 23 – The Incredibles
- Thursday, July 30 – Cars
Concerts | Activities start at 5:30 p.m., Concerts start at 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, August 6* – The Brightsiders (90's – 2000's Rock)
- Thursday, August 13 – Surf City Allstars (Beach Boys Tribute)
- Thursday, August 20 – Kelly Boyz Band (Country, Rock, Pop)
*In collaboration with the Westminster Police Department's National Night Out featuring Safety Day!
Food trucks, giveaways, activities, and more are expected at each event. Let's make memories together under the stars with great music, great movies, and even better company.

Sigler Park Splash Pad
Sigler Park Splash Pad | 7200 Plaza St.
Weekends (Saturday & Sunday): Now through June 7
Daily: June 13 to September 7
Public Hours: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
There's still time to reserve your spot for your next birthday party, play date, or even a Summer Camp field trip! Reservation dates are limited – book your private party today! Rental fee for private use of the Splash Pad is $180/Westminster Resident Rate; $200/Non-Resident Rate. Fee includes 2 hours (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) of exclusive use of the Splash Pad with two staff attendants for up to 50 guests.

Cherry St. Eats
Cherry St. Eats is coming soon!
Cherry St. Plaza | 7191/7201 Westminster Blvd.
Get ready for a weekly food truck experience at Cherry St. Plaza! Whether you're craving dinner, dessert, or a quick snack, Cherry St. Eats is the place to be to enjoy a variety of local favorites.
Starting in June, rotating food truck vendors will be on-site each week, offering various delicious food options and an opportunity to support local businesses and enjoy the community atmosphere. Be on the lookout for family-friendly activities on scheduled days!

Recreation Program
Summer Parks Program
Our FREE Summer Parks Program is the place to be! With tons of activities and fun to go around, we're set to give you the best summer break ever! Starting June 15 through August 7, youth ages 6-14 can enjoy sports, games, crafts, and more! Drop-in daily, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. See you there!

After School Parks Program
Looking for a fun, safe, and educational place for your kiddos after school? Check out our FREE Parks Program for youth ages 6-14! Drop-in daily, Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., to enjoy recreational activities, games, arts & crafts, sports and homework time. See you there!

Cherry St. Community Garden
All community garden plots are currently taken for the Cherry St. Community Garden. The waitlist is open to the public, with priority given to Westminster residents. Apply at the Community Services & Recreation Building – 8200 Westminster Blvd.
Community members can reserve and maintain their own garden space!

Parks & Playground Improvement Projects
Many parks throughout Westminster are receiving well-deserved improvements this year! Watch for construction at your neighborhood parks, and stay tuned for upgraded amenities.

Westminster Family Resource Center
The Westminster Family Resource Center offers a variety of free services for families with children under 18. The center will be hosting various events this spring! Visit the WFRC at 7200 Plaza St. at Sigler Park or call (714) 903-1331.
