Summer 2026 Newsletter & Recreation Guide
It's a Star Spangled Summer! Our Summer newsletter is now available! Summer class registration is now OPEN in person or online! There's still time to enroll in one of our exciting sports, science, or arts Summer Camps running through August!

Contract Classes: Adult Pickleball
This adult pickleball class offers the perfect mix of training and match play. Participants start with focused instruction and drills to improve technique and game strategy. The second part of the class shifts to competitive round-robin games, offering both singles and doubles play against a variety of opponents. Students must bring their own paddle and water, wear athletic clothing, and lace-up tennis shoes.
Classes meet every Saturday, August 15 – August 29, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Ages 18+.
New Signal Box Art Program
The Signal Box Art Program has officially launched! We're inviting Westminster artists to help transform traffic signal boxes across the city into public art. Individuals, groups, and school groups are all welcome to apply – selected artists receive a $750 stipend to bring their design to life.
Ready to apply? You'll design artwork sized to fit your selected signal box and submit it through our online application form. Full details, requirements, and the application form are available at westminster-ca.gov/signalbox.
Applications close September 17 at 5:00 p.m.
2026 Movies & Music – Summer Concerts
Continue enjoying a Star Spangled Summer and join us in the Civic Center Sunken Garden on Thursdays in August for fun, family-friendly concerts right in the heart of the community!
Concerts | Activities start at 5:30 p.m., Concerts start at 6:30 p.m.
- THIS WEEK – Thursday, August 13 – "Tiki & Tunes" with Surf City Allstars (Beach Boys Tribute)
- Thursday, August 20 – Kelly Boyz Band (Country, Rock, Pop)
Food trucks, giveaways, activities, and more are expected at each event. Let's make memories together under the stars with great music and even better company.

Summer Block Party at Cherry Street Plaza
You're invited to our 2nd Community Block Party! Grab your family, invite your neighbors, and join us for another unforgettable evening of food, fun, and community spirit.
Our Cherry Street Eats Community Block Party will feature local food trucks serving up delicious favorites, lawn games and activities (stay tuned for what's to come), and plenty of space to relax, connect, and make lasting memories.

Mobile Rec Program
Our Mobile Rec team is traveling to different parks throughout the City of Westminster offering youth ages 6-14 fun games, cool crafts, and engaging outdoor activities. Please keep your eye on our social media pages for locations, dates, and times.

Sigler Park Open Field Days
The Sigler Park Soccer Field will be open for free public use on Tuesdays, August 11 and August 18 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Come practice your soccer skills and play a game with friends and family! Stay tuned for more days to follow.
Sigler Park Splash Pad
The Sigler Park Splash Pad is still open for a cool down on these hot days!
Sigler Park Splash Pad | 7200 Plaza St.
Daily: Now through September 7
Public Hours: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Several weekdays are still available to reserve your private party (all weekend days have been reserved). Rental fee for private use of the Splash Pad is $180/Westminster Resident Rate; $200/Non-Resident Rate. Fee includes 2 hours (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) of exclusive use of the Splash Pad with two staff attendants for up to 50 guests.

Fall Festival
