Westminster Library September Programs

Back to school fun at the Westminster Library!

The library is back in full swing with storytimes, children's events, and activities for the whole family. The Tasty Thursday food-literacy series kicks off this month starting with how to make pasta dough. Supplies are limited and registration is required. Later in the month the Surfrider Foundation will drop by to talk about what we can do to protect our local beaches.

Bilingual Storytime/GIỜ KỂ CHUYỆN SONG NGỮ: Saturdays, September 6 and September 20 from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Toddler Tuesdays Storytime: Tuesday mornings from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Join us on Tuesday mornings for books, songs, activities, and FUN! Suitable for babies age 3 and under with a caregiver. Stay after for playtime.

Campfire Storytime: Wednesday late afternoons from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Come and enjoy a cozy storytime by the campfire. PJs are welcome. Fun for the whole family!

Family Storytime: Saturday, September 13 from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Kindergarten Readiness Storytime: Thursdays, September 4, September 11, and September 25: This interactive storytime focuses on the skills kids aged 3-5 need to be ready to succeed in school! Stories, songs, and rhymes followed by a special craft every week!

Kindergarten Readiness Storytime with a Special Guest: Thursday, September 18: A Westminster police officer will come to this very special storytime to read a book to the kids! After storytime, the kids will get a chance to see a police car up close!

Children

After School Craft: Paper Dragon: Wednesday, September 10 from 3:30 PM – 4:30 P. Join us to create paper dragons!

Pirate Day: Thursday, September 18 from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Ahoy Matey! Celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day with crafts and actives. Bonus: Dress like a pirate!

Read to a Dog: Monday, September 22 from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Practice your reading skills with a furry new friend! Bring your own book or use one of ours! Read to a Dog meets in the library programs room.

After School Craft: S.T.E.A.M. Hexaflexagon: Wednesday, September 24 from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Come and create this fascinating geometric toy.

Teen

Teen Craft: Felt Succulents: Saturday, September 6 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Make your own succulent out of felt. No water or sunlight required! While supplies last.

Adult and Family

Adult Fiber Arts Group: Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Do you knit or crochet? Join us for a drop-in fiber arts session. Bring your own projects. This group is open to all levels. Some supplies provided; cross stitch, needlepoint, hand sewing, embroidery, and weaving are also welcome. No crafting experience necessary. Some supplies are provided by the library.

Tasty Thursday: Pasta Dough: Thursday, September 11: Join us for a hands-on experience for children and their parents. Attendees will learn how to make fresh pasta dough! Children must be accompanied by an adult to participate. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Sustainability and Beach Cleanup in Orange County: presented by Surfrider Foundation: Saturday, September 27, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Join us for a presentation by the Surfrider Foundation of North Orange County. Learn how simple changes can help the environment and protect our local beaches. We will discuss sustainability on a local level, ways to reduce plastic use, and beach cleanup opportunities. All ages welcome!
