Tree Lighting
Join the City of Westminster tonight for our annual Tree Lighting ceremony. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Westminster Civic Center, enjoy youth performances, photos with Santa, activities, food for purchase, and the lighting of our NEW tree!
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Join us at the ribbon cutting for our brand-new playground, featuring "Sea Loving Dreams" at Bolsa Chica Park. From tall towers to swings, this ocean adventure themed playground has something for all ages.
Be among the first to experience the excitement and dive into fun right here in Westminster!
Stay and play after the Ribbon Cutting, join our Parks Program for free fun following the ceremony. We can't wait to see you there!

Santa on the Go!
Ho, Ho, Ho! Santa is on the Go! Santa is on his way to Westminster! He will be making a special appearance at these Westminster parks for some holiday fun and pictures. Visit with Santa, plus enjoy holiday crafts, treats, and activities!

Santa is waiting to hear from you! Write a letter to Santa and receive a personally answered response! Be sure to include a return address or send Santa an email.

To be considered for the parade, applicants must provide the following to the City of Westminster:
- Completed application form with waiver
- Brief bio (max 75 words in English and 85 words in Vietnamese)
- Payment for parade entry fee
To receive the Regular Entry Rate, applications must be submitted by January 9, 2026. Applications submitted January 10–February 6, 2026 will receive the Late Entry Rate.
City offices will be closed for winter break from December 24, 2025, to January 2, 2026.

Fall After School Parks Program
Looking for a fun, safe, and educational place for your kiddos after school? Check out our FREE Parks Program for youth ages 6–14! Drop in Monday through Friday, from 2:30–5:00 p.m., to enjoy recreational activities, games, arts & crafts, sports, and homework time. See you there!

Cherry St. Community Garden
Let’s grow together! We are now accepting in-person applications for the Cherry St. Community Garden. Open to the public, with priority given to Westminster residents. Apply at the Community Services Building – 8200 Westminster Blvd.
Garden Plots Available:
4' x 4' – $50 annual fee
4' x 8' – $100 annual fee
Community members can reserve and maintain their own garden space!
Parks & Playground Improvement Projects
Many parks throughout Westminster are receiving well-deserved improvements this year! Watch for construction at your neighborhood parks, and stay tuned for upgraded amenities.

Senior Center Presentations & Classes

Westminster Family Resource Center
The Westminster Family Resource Center offers free services for families with children under 18. The center will be hosting a variety of events this season! Visit the WFRC at 7200 Plaza St. at Sigler Park or call (714) 903-1331.
Father Leadership & Engagement Group
Join our 10-week Father Leadership & Engagement Program and connect with other dads in your community! This series helps fathers recognize strengths, build confidence, and gain practical tools to support family well-being.
Classes are held at the Westminster Family Resource Center every Tuesday through December 9, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Empower yourself and strengthen your family — register today!
