The Westminster Water Division will be flushing fire hydrants and performing routine water system maintenance in the areas below on January 28-29 & February 4-5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Flushing Jan. 28-29

Flushing Feb. 4-5

  • January 28-29: Between Hazard Ave. and Garden Grove Blvd., from Edwards St. to Goldenwest St.
  • February 4-5: Between Hazard Ave. and Garden Grove Blvd., from Goldenwest St. to Hoover St.

This routine process removes sediment from water mains and ensures the continued quality and reliability of our water system.

During this time, you may notice:

  • Temporary water discoloration.
    • We recommend postponing laundry and using bottled water for cooking or drinking if needed. The water is still safe, though it may not look or taste ideal.
  • Water flowing along streets and gutters.
    • In some areas, it may look like localized street flooding. This is expected and is a normal part of the process. It is not a leak or broken water line.
Is this a waste of water? No. Flushing hydrants is an essential part of maintaining a safe and reliable water supply.
