Recreation Program
After School Parks Program
Looking for a fun, safe, and educational place for your kiddos after school? Check out our FREE Parks Program for youth ages 6-14! Drop-in daily, Monday through Friday from 2:30-5:00 p.m., to enjoy recreational activities, games, arts & crafts, sports and homework time. See you there!

Mobile Rec Program
Our Mobile Rec team will be rolling to different parks throughout Westminster throughout the year! Stop by and engage in the fun themed activities and crafts! Please follow us on social media for any updates.
Westminster Winter Youth Sports Programs
Get active this winter and join one of our sports! Programs include Basketball and Soccer for youth ranging in ages 5 to 12 years old! Offered at both Bolsa Chica and Sigler parks. Pre-registration is required. View the list below for more details!

To be considered for the parade, applicants must provide the following to the City of Westminster:
- Completed application form with waiver
- Brief bio (max 75 words in English and 85 words in Vietnamese)
- Payment for parade entry fee
Entry applications submitted January 10–February 6, 2026 will receive the Late Entry Rate.
Premier Grandstand Seating for Open Ceremony and Parade
Grab the best view of the opening ceremony, firecracker demonstration, parade, and more! You won't miss a thing!
Reserve premier seats are located directly in front of the stage to enjoy all the festivities! Stage is located on Bolsa Ave between Weststate St. and Moran St.

Media Credential Request
Members of the media wishing to access the designated media area, across from the main stage, must pre-register by completing the form below and accepting the waiver.
Access to the media area will be restricted to only those who have pre-registered.
Space is limited and registration is now available online, click here for more details.
Pre-registration closes Wednesday, February 11 at 5 p.m. There is a mandatory Media Meeting on Friday, February 13.

Cherry St. Community Garden
Let’s grow together! We are now accepting in-person applications for the Cherry St. Community Garden. Open to the public, with priority given to Westminster residents. Apply at the Community Services Building – 8200 Westminster Blvd.
Garden Plots Available:
4' x 4' – $50 annual fee
4' x 8' – $100 annual fee
Community members can reserve and maintain their own garden space!
Parks & Playground Improvement Projects
Many parks throughout Westminster are receiving well-deserved improvements this year! Watch for construction at your neighborhood parks, and stay tuned for upgraded amenities.

Sigler Park – New soccer field construction in progress, estimated completion early 2026.
Gillespie Park – Playground construction in progress, estimated completion early 2026.
Senior Center Presentations & Classes

Westminster Family Resource Center
The Westminster Family Resource Center offers free services for families with children under 18. The center will be hosting a variety of events this season! Visit the WFRC at 7200 Plaza St. at Sigler Park or call (714) 903-1331.
Virtual Parenting Class for Parents of School-Age Children (via Zoom)
Join us for a 6-week virtual parenting class designed for parents and caregivers of school-age children. This interactive course is facilitated by Olive Crest and focuses on practical tools to support positive behavior, strengthen parent-child relationships, and navigate common challenges at home and school.
When: Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m. (for 6 consecutive weeks)
Where: Online via Zoom
Who: Parents and caregivers of school-age children
Pre-registration is required. The Zoom link will be provided after enrollment.
