Westminster Library March Programs

The Westminster Library welcomes the new spring season with fresh programs.

The Westminster Library welcomes the new spring season with fresh programs. Go old-school analog at our new Record Club for adults and bring a song or two on vinyl to share. Bring your dinos to a spa day and celebrate the coming of spring with different cultures. March is Kindergarten Readiness month. The library invites you to the annual Kinderpalooza program for children and families preparing to enter kindergarten. There is something for all ages at the Westminster Library!

Storytimes – Click the title to see a list of all the storytimes at the Westminster Library. Our storytimes are followed by a Play & Learn session. Come to one or come to both!

Programs for Children:

Play Dough Date – Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10:30-11:30 AM: Play, create, and connect! This program offers open-ended play that encourages creativity, sharing, and social skills.

LEGO Club –Fridays from 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Come play with our LEGO and DUPLO bricks or build amazing structures with our KEVA planks. We provide the materials; you provide the creativity. Fun for the whole family.

Totally Untidy Toddlers – Wednesday, March 18 at 10:30 AM. Join us for a fun-filled session where your little ones can explore, get messy, and learn through play.

Read to a Dog – Monday, March 23 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Practice your reading skills with a furry new friend! Bring your own book, or use one of ours! Read to a Dog meets in the library program room.

Dino Spa Day – Wednesday, March 25 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Come give your dinosaur a full spa treatment! Bring your own water-friendly dinosaur or borrow one of ours! Treat your prehistoric pet to a mud bath, a fizzy scale treatment, an ice dip, a bubble bath, and a luxurious blow dry! Just because they’re extinct doesn’t mean they can’t be pampered!
May get messy, so feel free to bring a change of clothes!

Programs for Families:

Spring Around the World – Wednesday, March 11 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Join us for a vibrant spring celebration that embraces multicultural traditions! Engage in a variety of crafts and activities that showcase the beauty of Holi, Nowruz, Hanami, Baba Marta, and more.

Kinderpalooza – Thursday, March 26 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM: An event for children and families preparing to enter kindergarten. We're excited to partner with incredible local organizations committed to early learning, family support, and sparking curiosity in young minds, including BrightLife Kids, First 5 Orange County, Children's Home Society, PBS SoCal, Discovery Cube, the Westminster Family Resource Center, the Westminster School District, and more! Come see the amazing animals from Adventures in Living Science and take a photo with Pete the Cat!

Kinderpalooza 2026

Programs for Adults:

Fiber Arts Group – Tuesdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Do you knit or crochet? Or would you like some help learning? Bring your own projects. All fiber arts welcome! This group is open to all levels. Some supplies provided.

Drop In Tech Help – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Need help with your phone or computer? This program is offered as walk-in only, first come, first served.

Record Club – Monday, March 9 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM: Join us on the 2nd Monday of the month at Westminster Library for Record Club. Tired of endless streaming? Come in and share your favorite tunes on Vinyl or CD. Light refreshments will be provided.

Sewing Basics for Adults – Saturday, March 21 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM: Never sewn before? No problem! We’ll start with how to thread the machine and sewing basics and then sew a drawstring bag. All supplies provided; space is limited to 10 machines. Registration recommended. Please arrive early. Reservations will be given up after 10 minutes.

Adult Book Group – Tuesday, March 24 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. A book club for adults that meets the fourth Tuesday of the month. This month we’ll discuss The Art Thief by Michael Finkel.

Programs for Teens:

Snack & Study – Thursdays from 4:00 – 5:30 PMNeed a place to study with friends? Come to the library and snack while you work. No schoolwork, no problem! Boardgames available on request.

Teen Trivia Hour – Saturday, March 14 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM: Test your knowledge with trivia questions! The champion will win a prize! 

Teen Volunteer Orientation – Wednesday, February 18 at 4:00 PM: Want to volunteer at the library? We are recruiting! Current opportunities are for Library Helpers, Homework Helpers, and Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Members. All volunteers must attend an orientation prior to volunteering.

Cooking Basics: Hanami Dango – Saturday, March 28 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM: Learn the basics of cooking with hanami dango, a sweet from Japan. Celebrate spring with chewy, colorful rice dumplings. No registration required.
