Commissions, Boards, and Committees

Advisory bodies play an important role in City governance by assisting the Mayor and City Council in addressing specific issues in detail, lending professional expertise, facilitating community decision-making, and serving as a primary conduit between citizens, City staff and departments, and the City Council.

Appointments are made to various Commissions, Boards, and Committees for terms that generally expire every two even numbered years, coinciding with the General Municipal Election cycle. Appointments are also made to fill unscheduled vacancies as needed. To view current vacancy notices, please visit the Public Notices page. Applications are accepted year-round, not just during recruitment for new terms or vacancies.

Unless otherwise noted, all applicants must be a resident of Westminster. Applicants must provide:

  • A completed and signed application;
  • A signed Code of Ethics;
  • A copy of your driver's license or state-issued identification card; and
  • A utility bill or other bill such as an insurance, credit card, rent, or other statement.

The documents may be emailed to CityClerkCSR@westminster-ca.gov, or submitted in person/mailed to:

8200 Westminster Blvd.
Westminster, CA 92683

Primary residency verification will be conducted through the Orange County Registrar of Voters' voter registration records. If an applicant is not a registered voter, contact the City Clerk's Office for alternative verification options.

Applications and Code of Ethics remain on-file for one calendar year and are subject to public disclosure. Copies of driver's licenses/ID cards and other supplemental documents such as bills and statements are exempt from public disclosure.

Please contact the City Clerk's Office at (714) 548-3237, if you have any questions.
