SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Program
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced low-interest federal disaster loans are now available to small businesses and private nonprofit organizations in California to offset economic losses caused by the Garden Grove Hazmat Incident occurring May 21–29.
The EIDL program is available to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, and private nonprofits—including faith-based organizations—with financial losses directly related to this disaster.
What EIDL Program Can Cover
EIDLs are for working capital needs caused by the disaster and are available even if the business did not suffer any physical damage. They may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills which could not be paid due to the disaster.
How to Apply
- Visit the Business Recovery Center in Garden Grove. Walk-ins are welcome, appointments are encouraged.
- Apply online at sba.gov/disaster.
- Call SBA's Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955.
- Email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
- Telecommunications relay services dial 7-1-1.
Application Deadline
The deadline to return economic injury applications to the SBA is March 11, 2027.
Business Recovery Center (BRC) Assistance
SBA customer service representatives will be available at the Business Recovery Center (BRC) in Garden Grove to:
- Answer questions about SBA's disaster loan program
- Explain the application process
- Provide application assistance
Walk-ins are welcome but in-person appointments can be scheduled in advance at appointment.sba.gov.
