Parking Recreational Vehicles (RV) in Westminster
To improve the quality of the community and preserve safety in the City of Westminster, the City Council has approved a parking prohibition of all recreational vehicles, as defined, on all city streets in Westminster unless a permit has been issued. The following is guidance to the ordinance and the permitting process. Permit support is available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, excluding holidays.
The City of Westminster prohibits parking a recreational vehicle (RV) on any city street that does not have a valid RV parking permit issued by the Westminster Police Department. (10.44.050 WMC)
Residential Permits
Per the ordinance, each resident may be issued no more than twelve (12) non-consecutive temporary RV parking permits in any calendar year per residential address, with at least one day in between each of the twelve (12) non-consecutive permits. Nor more than one permit per address shall be issued at any given time. A permit may not be issued to an RV with any outstanding parking citations. The purpose of the temporary RV parking permit is solely to allow residents who are users of recreational vehicles to park adjacent to their residences to load, unload, clean/maintain their recreational vehicles. If a resident resides in a multi-family complex, the resident shall park the RV in front of the residents address from which the loading or unloading will occur or within 500 feet from where the resident resides, whichever is closer.
Permit Display
The printed permit must be displayed on the lower right portion of the windshield. If it is not legible from ground level, it must be displayed on the right front passenger side window. If an issued RV permit is not displayed or is not legible, the RV may be cited.
