The City of Westminster welcomed UCI graduate planning students to the Civic Center on March 17, 2026, where student teams presented research and recommendations focused on the future of Little Saigon.

The students spent two quarters studying the district — researching existing conditions, community assets, and key challenges in the fall, then developing recommendations in the winter. Their presentations explored ideas around space activation, pedestrian mobility and safety, economic development, and sense of place along Bolsa Avenue.

The City is grateful for the thoughtfulness and creativity the students brought to their work, and proud to support the next generation of urban planners as they engage with real communities and real challenges. Their research has been shared with the City's project team as part of ongoing planning efforts in Little Saigon.
