Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is a cherished cultural celebration in Westminster and the Little Saigon community. Each year, the City hosts the Tet Parade along Bolsa Avenue—an event that draws thousands and highlights Vietnamese heritage and pride.
To support the growing costs of producing the parade and related cultural efforts, the City Council voted on May 14, 2025, to establish the Tet Parade Foundation—a public benefit nonprofit focused on fundraising and reducing the financial burden on city staff and taxpayers.
The Foundation will be governed by a 7-member board: the Mayor, Vice Mayor, and one appointee from each Council Member. No seed funding will be provided by the City; the estimated $5,000 setup cost will be repaid by the Foundation.
