March 13, 2020:

In an effort to slow the transmission of COVID-19 (coronavirus), and following guidance issued by the state yesterday, the city is taking steps to protect the health and safety of our residents, visitors, and employees.  Based on these recommendations, Spring Festival will be cancelled this year

We appreciate your interest in our event & community and hope to see you next year.  Mark your calendars for Spring Festival 2021 – Saturday, March 27th.

Join the City of Westminster in celebrating the season at the annual Spring Festival.  Held annually on the Saturday of the weekend before Easter in the beautiful Westminster Civic Center. 


The event features live entertainment, delicious food, craft vendors, an extensive resource fair, fun children's activities and of course...a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The Keep America Beautiful Program will take place the month of April. Westminster residents, businesses and schools are invited to improve the look of our city by beautifying the surroundings in ways that make a huge difference. The annual “Adopt a Park” program offers an opportunity for citizens, youth organizations, churches and service clubs to adopt a park of their choice and give a sprucing up on Saturday, April 25, 2020.  



On Thursday nights in the summer the Civic Center is the place to be. The community can enjoy a variety of free movies or concerts in the month of July through August.  Movies  begin at dusk with pre-movie activities at 6:30 p.m. Concerts take place from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. You may bring a picnic dinner or enjoy the delicious food items sold at the event venue.

Each summer, Community Services and Recreation Department hosts the annual Public Awareness Safety Day at Sigler Park, 7200 Plaza St.  in July. The event  provides children and their families an opportunity to become familiar with the City’s safety staff and services. The event  also features demonstrations by the Westminster Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority. For further information, please call the department at 714.895.2860.

Hosted annually by the Westminster City Council, this “Day of the Family” provides an opportunity for residents and surrounding communities to participate in a cultural celebration of family and friends. The event is held at Sigler Park, 7200 Plaza Street, on Sunday, September 22, 2019  from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. 



The Westminster Mall and Westminster Community Services & Recreation Department proudly sponsor this annual Halloween funfest on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  at the Westminster Mall. Families are invited to come in costume, however, children over the age of 12 and adults may not wear masks. Children ages 2-12 years can enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the mall and win treats and prizes at the game booths. Join us on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Center Sunken Garden for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. We will light the tree, sing carols, restock the “food closets” for the needy, and of course...be visited by Santa Claus himself. Please join the City in this joyful holiday event.



Santa Claus will make a special trip to Westminster on Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. to have breakfast with children and their families.  After a visit with Santa, enjoy a morning of arts and crafts.  This event is a tradition with many local families and reservations sell out quickly.  Register here:  http://bit.ly/2TxJfxt



Children are invited to write a letter to Santa, and receive a personally answered response!  Each year, more than 500 letters are received and answered.  Send your letter by December 14, 2020 to: Santa c/o Westminster Community Services & Recreation Department 8200 Westminster Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683 Be sure to include a return address!
