Council Member Tai Do
With over two decades of dedicated public service and a distinguished career as a police officer, Tai aspires to continue his duty to the community and serve the people of the great City of Westminster.
Tai grew up in Vietnam, and endured a lot of hardship to escape the Vietnamese communist regime as a teenager, making it to the US in 1984. He has lived in Westminster, CA for the last 17 years, and calls this city his home.
He graduated from Santa Ana College with a Degree in Criminal Justice and earned California Technical Education (CTE) Clear Teaching Credentials from the University of San Diego. Tai is a proud father, he has two children, Alvin and Brittney, who grew up in Westminster and attended Eastwood Elementary and Stacey Middle School. Brittney is an accomplished golfer and currently attending college.
Tai has a family legacy in public service, and has dedicated the past 23 years of his life in public and community service as a police officer. His son, Alvin, followed his footsteps and is also a police officer. Tai and Alvin are the first father and son Vietnamese American police officers in the United States. They both are committed to the safety and security of our fellow citizens and the furtherance of understanding between the community and the police.
